Crieff is a market town that is located within the area of Perth and Kinross in Scotland. The town is situated on the A85 road that runs between the areas of Crainlarich and Perth. The town is also located on the A822, which is the road that runs between Greenloaning and Aberfeldy. The A822 connects up with the A823, which is the road that leads to Dunfermline.
Over the years the town of Crieff has developed into a very popular tourist area. The tourism is marketed using the history that the town has in relation to cattle driving and whisky.
There are a vast number of tourist attractions within the town of Crieff and these include Glenturret Distillery and the visitor centre at Caithness Glass. The Innerpeffray Library was established in 1680 and it is actually one of the oldest lending libraries in Scotland. The library is located close to the St Mary's Chapel and this dates back to 1508. The library and the chapel are both open to members of the public. The library is actually run by a trust that is charity based and the chapel is in the care of Historic Scotland.
There is an annual event called the Highland Games held within the town and they are held during the summer months. The highland games feature a vast number of things including music, dancing competitions and strength competitions.
There is a strong education network within the town and this consists of two primary schools and three high schools. The primary schools are known as Crieff Primary School and also St Dominic's primary school, which is a Roman Catholic school. There is one public high school that is Crieff High School and there are two private schools.
