Overcombe House is a popular licenced Guest House located within Dartmoor National Park between Tavistock & Plymouth offering quality facilities and a personal service in a relaxed homely atmosphere. | About us David & John offer quality facilities and a personal service in a relaxed homely atmosphere. All our guests can be assured of receiving a warm welcome with complimentary tea or coffee on arrival and some homemade cake if John has had time to bake. We provide comfortable clean accommodation; breakfasts are substantial using LOCAL, HOMEMADE, ORGANIC & FAIR TRADE produce. Our Cornish dry cured bacon & Devon sausages come from our local butcher, Bidders at Yelverton. The free range eggs come from a farm near Cotehele just on the far side of the river Tamar.  'Overcombe House' enjoys wonderful views overlooking the village of Horrabridge and the Walkham Valley and some of Dartmoor Tors including Leather Tor and North Hessary Tor. Some walks can be done from here; maps, leaflets & guidebooks are available & can be borrowed on request. We are located approximately 300 metres from National Cycle Network Route 27 & The West Devon Way.  There is on site parking for 7 vehicles and ample space on the road outside the premises. The garage doubles as a lockable store for cycles, motorcycles or golfing equipment. The dining room has a small bar, and a comfortable sitting area in which to relax & chat. |
| Accommodation 'Overcombe' has 8 en-suite bedrooms comprising of doubles, twins & our single room. Some of the bedrooms have beautiful views overlooking the Walkham Valley, the village of Horrabridge & the High Moors towards Princetown.  All bedrooms have comfortable beds and en-suite showers, one of our twin rooms is also equipped with a bath. All bedrooms benefit from the following facilities.

| How to find us by car Directions from Tavistock approx.4 miles Follow the A386 towards Plymouth. On reaching the 'Horrabridge' sign , continue forward. Shortly after passing the left turn into the village (Watch out for the Speed Camera) take the second turn on your right into Old Station Road (You will see our brown Tourist Sign) you will find us on the left hand side. Have a safe journey. Directions from Plymouth approx. 10 miles Follow A386 towards Tavistock. On reaching the roundabout at Yelverton remain on the A386, after approximately 1.1 miles you will see the 'Horrabridge' sign take the next left turn and follow the road round and you will find us on the right hand side. If you miss this road take the next left hand turn. Old Station road is effectively a loop road off the A386. |
| Tariff 1st April 2007 to 31st March 2008 Please note all prices quoted are per room per night & are based on two adults sharing a double/twin en-suite room and breakfast is included. Double/Twin room 1 or 2 Nights from £65 Double/Twin room 3 Nights or more from £60* Single room from £37.50* Children from £12.50* Child rates only apply up to the age of 14 years & when sharing a room with two adults. *The above rates do not apply for Christmas & New Year, please contact us for further information. Please feel free to check availability using our on-line booking system. We suggest that you contact us by telephone if you are booking more than one room or wish to avail of our most competitive rates. Check-in is between 5.00 p.m. (17.00 hours) & 10.00 p.m. (22.00 hours) on day of arrival. It can be earlier if we are available and are given prior notice. Your bill is payable in full on departure except in the case of on-line bookings which are payable in full at the time of booking. For guests settling their account on departure, we accept payment by Cash, Cheque accompanied by a valid bankers' card or a Debit Card. We do also accept Credit Cards but all bills settled with a credit card will incur an additional 2% charge. Regretfully we do not accept dogs/pets, however well-behaved & tiny. We are however happy to accept assistance dogs.
