| Lots to See and Do! Brixham lies at the Southern end of Torbay. Boasting one of Britain's most beautiful harbours, the town is well loved for its colourful cottages dotted on winding narrow streets. There are spectacular walks to suit all abilities and blue flag beaches for sunbathing, swimming and splashing about. Brixham has a marina and is an active fishing port, so inevitably life revolves around the sea. The enticing seafood menus in many of the local restaurants are proof in the eating. Sailing, fishing, canoeing, diving and leisure cruises are all on the doorstep. For the land lubbers there are beaches, coves, the South west coastal path and Berry Head nature reserve. There is even a renowned ghost and history walk if you want to learn more about Brixham. Within 15 miles of Brixham are the picturesque towns and villages of the South Hams, the wildness of Dartmoor and the rest of Torbay. Within the South Hams are the historic towns of Dartmouth, Salcombe and Totnes. Dartmoor is nationally renowned for its walking, climbing and wildlife. Torbay is more family orientated with numerous attractions in and around Paignton & Torquay such as Paignton Zoo, Cockington village, the Paignton to Dartmouth steam railway and Babbacombe model village. We look forward to welcoming you to Sampford House |
