Spindle Lodge was built in 1876 on West Walk, a tree-lined street in the heart of the City Conservation Area in the Dutch Style. Despite its central position the Spindle Lodge is in a quiet location.
At the end of West Walk is the New Walk, a pedestrian promenade that takes you into the city centre.
The Spindle Lodge is only a 5 minute walk to Leicester University main campus and around the corner from the education department and other university buildings. |  |
Facilities
At Spindle Lodge we have recreated the charm and style of a Victorian town house. Many of the original features have been retained but the comforts of a modern day hotel have been carefully blended into the fabric of the building.All the bedrooms are on the first or second floor (Or second and third floor to our American visitors).
We have no lift or facilities for pets and all rooms are non-smoking except the bar lounge.
There is limited car parking in front of the hotel.

Bedrooms
Bedrooms are decorated and furnished to a high standard. Most rooms are en-suite and all rooms have colour TV, hairdryer, direct dial phones, tea and coffee making facilities and broadband connection. Ironing and ironing board are available on request.
We can provide you with a good start to the day with a full English breakfast in our pleasant dining room. Evening Meals are by request only, however, we can recommend several excellent restaurants within a five minute walk from the Spindle Lodge.

Leisure Time
Leicester is a vibrant city. It has an excellent entertainment, sporting, shopping and educational lifestyle.
Entertainment
Most entertainment in Leicester is easily accessible on foot. The De Montfort concert hall is 5 minutes walk from the Spindle Lodge and so too is the Y Theatre. The Little Theatre is only a 10 minute walk and slightly further away is the comedy venue Jongleurs, the Haymarket Theatre and the Multiplex Odeon Cinema. The New Walk Museum is only a few minutes walk.
Sport
Champions of 20-20 cricket and an entertaining county and limited over team, Leicestershire have their home at Grace Road, under 2 miles from the Spindle Lodge. Any county season ticket holders staying over two nights will receive discounted room tariffs. If you prefer to watch Premier Rugby Union, you can take a short walk to the Welford Road Stadium, home of the Leicester Tigers. A shade further away is the Walkers Stadium home of Leicester City FC.
Shopping
Leicester is well known for large open and indoor markets where, for many hundreds of years, shoppers have been able to search for bargains. In and around the Shires and Haymarket shopping centres are all the big name stores. Well worth a visit is the St. Martins boutique area near to Leicester Cathedral.
Education
Leicester University's main campus is only 5 minutes walk away but many of the buildings in the area around Spindle Lodge are used by various University departments. Leicester College is nearby and De Montfort University is only 15 minutes walk away. |

Most of the visitors who come to the Spindle Lodge are repeat visitors who come as a result of word of mouth recommendation.
To avoid disappointment you should book as early as you can.

Location
From junction 21 of the M1 motorway
When travelling to Leicester follow the signs for the city centre then follow signs for the railway station.
With the railway on your left drive up London Road and turn right into DeMontfort Street just after the light controlled Pedestrian crossing.
Turn left at the traffic lights into Regent Road and first left into West Walk and the hotel is first building on the left.
Walking from the Station
Out of the Station turn left up the slope which is London Road.
Cross over the road at the Pedestrian crossing by Antibo's Restaurant and take a right into DeMontfort Street. Turn left into New Walk by the Church and then right into West Walk.
Spindle Lodge is the last building on the right.
