| Welcome to our farm set in the heart of England - and the perfect place from which to explore it. |
| Stonehill has been our home since 1970 and we love it and enjoy sharing it with our guests. We offer you a relaxed friendly welcome and try to make your stay with us special. It is a working dairy farm in lush rolling countryside on the Wiltshire/Gloucester border. The farm is one mile from the unspoilt little village of Charlton with its 13th century church and 17th pub and is only three miles from Malmesbury, the oldest borough in England with its magnificent Abbey Church and Market Cross, pubs and restaurants. Avebury, Stonehenge, Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath and the wonderful Cotswold hills are also within easy distance by car. |
| What to See and do. Just a mile down the road is the unspoilt little village of Charlton, with its 13th century pub, serving real ale and home cooked food. If you love trees and shrubs, Westonburt Arboretum, with its magnificent collection gathered from every part of the world over generations, is fifteen minutes away - radiant with rhododendrons in spring, a riot of colour as maple and beech turn crimson and gold in autumn. For lovers of walking, the gentle Marlborough Downs and exhilarating Ridgeway are within easy reach. If you are fascinated by history the enigmatic stone circles of Avebury and Stonehenge are nearby You can play golf at more than seven different clubs of varying standards, sail, fish or wind surf on the Cotswold water park, and the whole of the incomparable Cotswolds are an easy drive away. Nor would any stay on the farm be complete without an excursion to the elegant Georgian City of Bath, just one turn west down the M4. Here you can forget about time in its unrivalled Roman Bath, its charming Regency theatre, and its thrumming little streets full of enticing shops and cafes, its frequent auctions and welcome wine bars. Further afield, Stratford-upon-Avon is an hour away, a memorable drive through rolling Cotswold roads and the magic of Oxford awaits you an hours drive east. Indeed in a week or a fortnight with us, you will have had the chance to find at first hand the heart of England, and there is nothing in the world quite like that. |
Bed and breakfast in the farmhouse We offer bed and breakfast in our farmhouse. We have twin and double rooms, one of which has its own shower room en suite.  A full English breakfast is served in the guests sitting/dining room and there are kettles in all the rooms for making tea, coffee or chocolate as required. Well behaved pets are welcome by arrangement. |
Self catering in the Cow Byre & Bull Pen. Our holiday cottages - the Cow Brye & Bull Pen are aptly named; they were once farm barns and have been converted to provide every modern comfort. Each is comfortably furnished in a suitable style with natural wood beams, doors and steps.Electric eating, power, bed linen, tea towels and table cloths are included in the rent. Pets are welcome by arrangement. To try and suit all tastes, you may smoke in the Bull Pen, but please no smoking in the Cow Byre. Nearest shops are to be found in Malmesbury. |

Each cottage has; sitting room with colour TV, and an extra bed for a third person if required. A fully equipped kitchen/diner with electric cooker, fridge and microwave. A cosy bathroom with a shower over the bath. A double bedroom with room for a cot if required, which can be provided on request. Ample car parking. |
