| The original farm building dates back to before 1430. We have many documents dating back to 1630, some on pigskin, and Roman and Tudor coins have been found nearby ( we have a small collection supplied by a local enthusiast)Probably built in the reign of Elizabeth I, this house has survived the ravages of eighteen Monarchs and two "Protectors". Just imagine all the things that might have happened here in the last 600 years - Walls may have ears but if only the timbers could talk! We have an abundance of wild life around the farm.The pheasants call to each other during late evening and the rabbits and hares dig up the lawns, as do the moles. We also have ducks, moorhens, squirrels, muntjacks and the odd roe deer. The pond has a wide variety of fish, carp etc, which we have collected over the years, some as large as 20lb, and which the local heron seems to think is his personal larder! Warner's is situated well away from any traffic noise and we love it's peace and atmosphere. We endeavour to give you a comfortable and memorable stay with all that is best in a B&B Directions to Warner's Farm from the South From the M11 travelling northwards Exit Junction 8 Take the A120 exit (left) towards Bishops Stortford At the 2nd roundabout take 3rd right turn onto the B1383 to Newport (10 miles) In Newport take the right turn to Wimbish, Debden and Carver Barracks (4 miles) At the T junction turn right towards Thaxted then next left to Wimbish Green. Follow this road for about 1.8 miles - keep right at the school - Warners Farm is clearly marked on the right. OR From the South M11 travelling northwards Exit Junction 9 This route takes you through the centre of Saffron Walden. Follow all signs for Saffron Walden. * At the bottom of the hill in Saffron Walden turn left at the traffic lights and follow the one way system. At the next traffic lights turn right towards Thaxted and Wimbish (B184). After about 3 miles, after a sign for Howlett End turn left towards Wimbish Green. Follow this road for about 1.8 miles - keep right at the school - Warners Farm is clearly marked on the right. From the North M11 exit Junction 10 (the next exit is Stansted!)
