The Wessex is a welcoming, purpose built hotel in the heart of the town of Street ,in the Ancient Kingdom of Wessex. The Wessex can offer comfortable accommodation for all travellers from the weary business man stopping overnight to the leisure guest looking for a relaxing break and to explore this lovely area of the South West.

There is so much to do in South Somerset it would be difficult to take in everything in one visit. If gardening and stately homes are your passion there are 8 different National Trust properties for you to wander around. If you are a lover of speed and all things mechanical then Fleet Air Museum or Haynes International Motor museum will fit the bill.

Alternatively, enjoy a leisurely break, eat, sleep, relax and do nothing more strenuous than wander across the road to the Clarks Village Retail Outlet centre to indulge in shopping heaven at fantastic prices.

The Wessex Hotel is the ideal venue for your conference, located just off the M5 in the Mendip area. We boast three large conference rooms, the largest of which will seat 350 delegates theatre style, or 250 seated banqueting for gala dinners. There is also a large free car park.

Accomodation

Rooms offered are Standard and Superior. All have recently been completely refurbished including brand new beds, soft furnishings, carpets and bathroom suites to provide a high level of comfort. All rooms have marble en-suite bathrooms, freeview T.V, tea/coffee making facilities, Hairdryer, casual chairs, dressing table with mirror over. Neutral colour tones with feature wall of dramatic wall-paper gives all rooms a luxurious but relaxing feel.

The Wessex hotel offers a choice of dining rooms and menus to suit all appetites from a light bite to a three course a la carte meal. For relaxed dining, the cosy bar offers a choice of classic English favourites and light snacks. For more formal, fine dining the Olive Tree restaurant offers a choice of A La Carte or Table D'Hote menus. Furthermore why not enjoy a relaxing drink during the day or in the evening sunshine on our terrace at the front of the hotel.

The hotel is easily reached from Junction 23 (Bridgewater) of the M5. Take this motorway exit and then head towards Glastonbury and Street on the A39. Stay on this road and after approximately 15 miles you will arrive in Street. Turn off right from the main road sign posted High Street and Town Centre. We are located at the end of High Street, once you have passed the turning for Clarks Village Shopping Centre
