Firstly, a very warm welcome to you from John and Liz. We want you to experience the very best hospitality and comfort possible in our dream home. We built it in 2003/4 and hopefully have incorporated all the facilities that our discerning guests will appreciate. The large natural pond in front of the property provides a habitat for a huge variety of wildlife; regular visitors include kingfishers, heron and a variety of wildfowl. This superb guesthouse not only provides some of the best bed and breakfast accommodation in Cumbria but can also provide clients with meeting and conference facilities. Perhaps more important than any of the many tangible qualities of Willowbeck, will be the warmth of our welcome and friendly companionship in this 'home from home''... there can be no doubt that you will enjoy a wonderful stay. |
Bedrooms At Willowbeck we offer four en-suite double bedrooms (including one twin), all of which overlook the pond. Each bedroom is comfortably furnished in contemporary style and has flat-screen television, broadband connection, hairdryer and tea & coffee making facilities.    The spacious accommodation marries elegant simplicity with superb comfort. The main lounge , with its soaring ceiling, gallery and wood-burning stove, boasts a window six metres wide by seven metres high, providing a perfect vantage point for viewing the extensive gardens and it's wildlife, and most importantly ... relaxing.   Our breakfasts are certainly worth getting out of bed for and the gastronomic evening meals, if required, are also prepared from fresh local produce whenever possible. | Conferencing Willowbeck Lodge doesn't only provide excellent residential accommodation. We are also happy to provide business clients with meeting and conference facilities in pleasant and discrete surroundings.There is ample secure off-road parking. The state-of-the- art under floor heating and availability of high speed internet connections throughout the house provides the perfect environment for a comfortable stay.   Whether you’re a group of business people or just friends wishing to get away for a few days, if you would like to play golf, walk, go-cart, paint-ball etc, we'd be glad to arrange your desired activity for you. For those wishing to spend a few hours at a leisure club, we have an arrangement with a local hotel (the Crown at Wetheral). Their facilities can be used upon the payment of a daily cover charge. |
| Arrivals and Departures We will be happy to complete your registration any time after noon although earlier arrivals will be accommodated by arrangement.We would greatly appreciate it if you would vacate your room by 11am. Meals We provide an excellent inclusive breakfast - full English or Continental. Breakfast is served between 7.00am and 9.30am. Let us know if you want a wake-up call. We also provide a superb dinner. This is a set menu and is served around 7.30pm. If you wish to take dinner please let us know at breakfast. Please also let us know any dietary requirements you may have. Dinner costs £25 per head. We are licensed to sell beers, wines and spirits and offer a thoughtful selection of wines to accompany your delicious evening meal (or at any other time if you wish!) Newspapers Our local village shop delivers newspapers early in the morning. Let us know your choice on arrival. Laundry facilities For that unexpected longer stay or annoying accident, our washing machine and super steam iron are at your disposal. Communications This information pack contains writing paper and stamps. Every bedroom has broadband internet connection. You can plug your lap-top in and type away to your heart's content. If you've forgotten your lap-top (and let's face it –who doesn't now and again!!) there's a work station on the gallery. Let us know if you need to send a fax - we can deal with that too. We do not provide telephones in bedrooms. If you need to make a call please ask and we'll provide you with a cordless phone. Relaxation There is a large flat-screen television in the sitting-room. There are also DVD and Video players. DVDs or videos showing on the TV in the lounge can also be viewed on channel seven on the TV in your bedroom. We have a selection of board-games and cards. There is a local pub, village shop/post office and hairdresser in Scotby. There are pubs and restaurants in neighbouring villages. We are happy to provide a local taxi service. We'll pick you up again (if it's not too late!) And finally We make every effort to ensure that your stay with us is a comfortable and enjoyable one. With this in mind we ask that you respect our wishes in respect of smoking and consuming food in bedrooms. This is a totally non-smoking establishment. If you wish to smoke please do so away from the house. Consumption of take-away food is not permitted on the premises. If you feel peckish we'll happily provide you with a snack. |
