Discover the fascinating world of Anglo-Saxon Northumbria by visiting Bede's World this summer! Visit the museums stunning 'Age of Bede' exhibition which brings to life thestory of the Venerable Bede and his fellow monks. Explore the site's Anglo-Saxon demonstration farm, home to rare breeds of animals including sheep, cattle and formidable pigs. Plus throughout all school and bank holidays, enjoy one of many the interactive family events and activities taking place, ranging from breathtaking historical re-enactments to fabulous craft markets and gift fairs. Additional attractions include Jarrow Hall, an elegant grade-ll listed Georgian building, which overlooks the land which was once the monastic estate known to Bede. "The Life and Times of Jarrow Hall" exhibition on display within the Hall, provides visitors with a fascinating insight into the lives of past inhabitants. Jarrow Hall is also home to a licensed cafe, offering visitors a fantastic selection of freshly made hot meals, snack and cakes.
