Housed in the upper floors of the Old College building of the University of Edinburgh, the Talbot Art Gallery is one of Edinburgh's best smaller art galleries. |
The gallery was established in 1975 and is named after one of the University's late professors of Fine Art, David Talbot-Rice. The Talbot Rice Gallery's permanent collection mainly consists of 17th century European, particularly Dutch, art, however the gallery also regularly hosts temporary exhibitions of works from other periods. The gallery is open 10am to 5pm Mondays to Saturday. Entry is free. |
