This house was once the home of one of the most famous of the Romantic Poets, John Keats. Keats died in 1821 at the young age of 25, but nevertheless he is regarded as one of the best English poets.
Some of his best known work was composed whilst he lived in this house, notably his 'Ode to a Nightingale'.
In this museum, you can see some of his original writings, including some love letters, his collection of Shakespeare and Chaucer and lots of other personal momentos. With lots of atmosphere, character and poignancy this house is a must for fans of English literature everywhere.
Keats House is open daily, but opening hours vary according to day and time of year, so check in advance. Admission is free.
