This museum tells the story of London's history from pre-history right through to the 20th Century. Numerous artefacts from Roman times, Saxon times and the Tudor period have been discovered over the years and these are displayed in the permanent exhibition.
The museum also puts on several exhibitions, lectures and special events throughout the year and these usually receive excellent reviews. Altogether this is one of London's better museums - it is designed well, is interesting and educational and makes good use of modern technology.
Highlights include a Roman mosaic pavement, the Lord Mayor's ceremonial coach, costumes from through the ages and the Great Fire of London experience.
The Museum of London is open daily from 10am-6pm Tuesday-Saturdays and 2pm-6pm Sundays. Tickets cost around £4 but entry is free after 4.30pm.
