This building in Greenwich became the Royal Naval College in 1873, but it was first designed by Christopher Wren in 1693 as a home for naval veterans.
The design of the building is particularly interesting for Wren was conscious of preserving the view of the river from the Queen's House. As a result there are two parts to the building and the view is unspoilt.
Some parts of the college are open to the public every afternoon except Fridays, admission is free. The Chapel and the Painted Hall are particularly worth visiting.
